Endangered doesn't mean doomed

Do nothing and future generations may never see some of the animals we know and love. That’s why WWF is striving to protect some of the world’s most iconic species – before it’s too late.

Extinction is a fact of life (or death) in the natural world. But when it’s happening at 1,000 times the natural rate, alarm bells start to ring.
Protecting the world’s species and the places they live are at the heart of what WWF does – it’s the reason they were established. And they’ve been safeguarding wildlife around the world ever since – protecting them against threats such as habitat destruction, poaching and climate change.
In the last 50 years, they’ve helped protect many of our most iconic animals – benefitting the many species who share their habitat.
