Natural disasters
Natural disasters originate from a myriad of sources and are often related to the weather.
Most disasters can be predicted to some degree, by the National Weather Service or other services dedicated to public safety, but this does not always give people enough time to act.
This often results in lives lost and property damage.
The most common natural disasters are avalanches, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, lightnings, volcanoes, landslides and mudslides, droughts and wilfires.
